Sadr

The large, bright star in this image, Gamma Cygni, is named Sadr. It is the central star of the constellation of Cygnus. Surrounding it is bright ionized hydrogen gas, forming a region often referred to as the Butterfly Nebula - IC 1318. Though there is also a different Butterfly Nebula, NGC 6302.
